Event Support Volunteer

Purpose:

Ensure Stride to Serve events run smoothly by helping with details of the event and making sure participants have clear instructions to ensure they have a positive experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Examples of possible responsibilities include:

  • Venue Preparation: Assist with the setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, decorations, and equipment.

  • Guest Services: Greet attendees, manage check-in/registration, and distribute name badges or event materials.

  • Wayfinding & Information: Provide directions, answer general questions about the schedule, and guide guests to specific locations.

  • Operational Support: Act as a "floater" to fill gaps where needed, such as managing lines, distributing refreshments, or assisting with raffles.

  • Facility Care: Maintain a tidy environment by clearing trash and ensuring spaces remain organized throughout the event.

Ideal Skills & Qualities:

  • Communication: Ability to provide clear instructions and friendly service to a diverse range of guests.

  • Adaptability: Comfort with switching tasks quickly and handling unexpected changes in a fast-paced environment.

  • Physical Stamina: Willingness to stand for long periods and perform light lifting (e.g., moving chairs or signage).

  • Reliability: Punctuality and commitment to the assigned shift.

  • Enjoy working outdoors and being hands-on.

Time Commitment:

Variable, 2-3 hours per event, starting Spring 2026.
